Coalesce emerged out of the Midwest in the mid-90s with a confrontational and uncompromising sound. Although they were adopted into the hardcore scene, their blend of discordance and noise set them apart from the very beginning. The strength of their back catalog highlights that their widespread influence is entirely justified and that their singular approach to experimentation within heavy music has stood the test of time.

Arguably Coalesce were ahead of their time when they began, and they have frequently been out of step with the scenes that swirled around them in the years since. Coalesce convenes whenever it feels right to do so, or as they put it, they come and go as they please. Never ones to sink into nostalgia, Coalesce are looking forwards, now and always.
