A dancer in a banker’s suit. A “good Indian boy” gone spectacularly off-script.
Bad Indian is a darkly funny and emotionally raw solo show written and performed by Saaj Raja. Blending storytelling, movement, humour, and sharp social observation, it follows one man’s journey from suburban Britain to the trading floors of Hong Kong as he struggles to reconcile cultural expectations with his own identity.
Raised to be the success story everyone wanted, Saaj chose double lives instead: forbidden loves, the wrong dreams, and a talent for talking his way into rooms he had no business being in. Through a series of hilarious, heartfelt, and deeply personal encounters, Bad Indian explores masculinity, family pressure, belonging, and the cost of living behind a mask.
Intimate, vulnerable, and unflinchingly honest, Bad Indian invites audiences to laugh, reflect, and question what it means to truly be yourself in a world determined to define you first.
