Edinburgh Fringe 2014 will welcome BIANCA BAGATOURIAN AND FRINGE MANAGEMENT's THE TIME OF OUR LIES: The Life and Times of Howard Zinn by Bianca Bagatourian. Performances will play the Gilded Balloon Teviot - DINING ROOM, today, July 30 - August 25th.
Historian and shipyard worker, civil rights activist and World War II bombardier and author of A People's History of the United States, the best-seller that presented the country's past through the eyes of the common people rather than political and economic elites, Howard Zinn was equally revered and condemned during his lifetime and his legacy lives on since his death in 2010.
This August, Bianca Bagatourian, brings her work The Time of Our Lies to the Gilded Balloon to tell the story of the man who wrote extensively about the civil rights, anti-war movements and labour history of the United States and inspired a generation of American high school and college students to rethink their country's heritage. Through song, rap and spoken word, The Time of Our Lies unfolds through Zinn's personal story as a young bombardier and goes on to depict how his life was shaped from there as well as examining the stories of other soldiers and the horrors of war. It speaks to Zinn's message about how more peaceful solutions should be sought in these turbulent times.
