Conductor Jérémie Rhorer, founder of Le Cercle de l'Harmonie, makes his debut London Philharmonic Orchestra debut at Royal Festival Hall on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Rhorer will conduct two monumental choral works: Carl Orff's canonic Carmina Burana and Francis Poulenc's rarely-heard Stabat Mater. Rhorer will lead the London Philharmonic Orchestra and London Philharmonic Choir as well as a trio of accomplished vocalists: soprano Louise Adler, tenor Toby Spencer, and baritone Simon Keenlyside.

This November and December, Rhorer and Le Cercle de l'Harmonie continue their close association with the Théâtre des Champes-Elysées with a groundbreaking new production of Verdi's La traviata directed by Deborah Warner. This production will use Verdi's original 432 Hz tuning, allowing the audience to hear the opera as it would have been heard by the composer himself, and will feature a thrilling ensemble of singers led by Vannina Santoni as Violetta, Saimir Pirgu as Alfredo, and Laurent Naouri as Giorgio Germont. Performances will take place on November 28, December 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, 2018

On March 23, 2019, Rhorer and Le Cercle de l'Harmonie will bring their interpretation of Verdi's La traviata to the Klara Festival in Brussels.

In addition to his significant work as a symphonic and operatic conductor with a broad spectrum of repertoire, Rhorer founded the period instrument ensemble Le Cercle de l'Harmonie in 2005 to recreate the sonic landscape of the Classical and Romantic eras from Gluck and Haydn to Brahms and Wagner. Rhorer and Le Cercle de l'Harmonie recent critically acclaimed appearances include performances of Rossini's The Barber of Seville using period instruments at Musikfest Bremen in September 2018, the Edinburgh International Festival in August 2018 and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in December 2017. Rhorer is known for his pioneering period instrument performances of Mozart's Don Giovanni, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and La clemenza di Tito, all performed with Le Cercle de l'Harmonie at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. Live recordings of La clemenza di Tito and Die Entführung aus dem Serail were both released on CD by Alpha Classics.

Additional highlights of Rhorer's 2018/2019 season include Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos at Théâtre des Champes-Elysées in March 2019, and appearances with Russian National Orchestra in Moscow and on tour in Germany, the Teatro la Fenice Orchestra, Brucknerorchester Linz, and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Berlin, among others.
