Harold Sanditen Returns to London & New York with New Show, 'Thoughts 'Round Midnight'

Following the successes of Love Exposed in both London (Pizza on the Park) and New York (Don't Tell Mama), Harold Sanditen returns with Thoughts ‘Round Midnight, a brand new show of songs, exploring the those innermost thoughts we all can fall into late at night - loneliness, gratitude, jealousy, joy, love, fantasies, lost opportunities, and even revenge.

The show will be directed by Lisa Forrell and concert and cabaret veteran, Nathan Martin, will be Musical Director in both cities. Dave Olney will be on bass in London, and Bob Renino on bass in New York. Harold's soulful and witty interpretation of lyrics will portray both the humour and pathos of our emotions, through the words and music of the words and music of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Billie Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Ned Washington, Johnny Mercer, Peggy Lee, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dave Frishberg and Stephen Sondheim to name a few. His vocal style covers the whole gamut, from jazz and Latin to pop, ballads and show tunes. This will prove to be another sensational evening from this exciting, new performer.

In 2007, after more than 20 years as a theatre producer and previously an investment banker, American-born Harold decided to move on from producing and do something he'd always wanted to do - cabaret performance. Harold's vocal style covers the whole gamut, from jazz and Latin, to pop, ballads and show tunes.

In September, 2008 he performed his first solo cabaret show, The Secret of Life, at The Duplex in New York, for 3 nights. The show was a success and it was performed again in November, 2008 at Pizza on the Park, again for 3 nights.

In October 2009, Harold returned to Pizza on the Park with his second solo cabaret show, Love Exposed, which then went on to Don't Tell Mama in November. After a London sell-out, the show returned to Pizza on the Park in March, 2010.

Harold's theatre productions spanned the smallest scale off-off productions to large scale commercial ones. He worked with a wide variety of performers, ranging from Oscar winners to complete unknowns. Harold was responsible for the UK debut of many North American performers and writers. His producing credits include Unsuspecting Susan (London and New York, with Celia Imrie), The Slow Drag (Whitehall and Freedom Theatres, London with Kim Criswell), Abundance (Riverside Studios, London in a first-time arts sponsorship by Evian), The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me (UK tour and Lisbon), The Fabulous Lypsinka Show (UK tour), Temporary Girl (UK Tour and Baltimore), A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg (King's Head, London with Clive Owen), A Shayna Maidel (with Anita Dobson), The Boys Next Door (with Steve Guttenberg), Being At Home With Claude (with Lothaire Bluteau), The Real World? and Hospitality (with Lesley Joseph). He also produced a number of shows for Bill Kenwright Ltd including A Song At Twilight (with Vanessa and Corin Redgrave), Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (with Brendan Fraser and Ned Beatty), Long Day's Journey Into Night (with Jessica Lange, Charles Dance, Paul Rudd and Paul Nicholls) and Fallen Angels (with Felicity Kendal and Frances de la Tour). Harold is the Vice Chairman of the Board of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), one of the UK's top drama schools, and is on the Board of The Playground, the only UK performing arts Creation Space. Harold is the London reviewer for Cabaret Scenes magazine, and has reviewed shows in New York, London and Paris.

Harold will be attending the International Cabaret Conference at Yale University from 23rd July to 1st August 2010, studying with some of the best performers and musicians in the cabaret world, including Julie Wilson, Carol Hall, Jason Graae, Alex Rybek, Sally Mayes, Ron Abel, Faith Prince and Amanda McBroom.

Previously, Harold attended The Art of Cabaret in Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 2009, studying with Andrea Marcovicci, Karen Mason, Barry Kleinbort, Christopher Denny, Shelly Markham and David Gaines; and in 2007 Harold studied cabaret performance with Helen Baldassare in an intensive week-long workshop in Tuscany.
