Birmingham Hippodrome will be running its popular theatre workshops this coming Easter Holiday for kids aged between 7 and 16 from Mon 8 - Fri 12 Apr, 10am - 3pm.

The three separate workshops, and final performance, will be based on the shows that have played the Birmingham Hippodrome stage in the past, present and future - including Sister Act, We Will Rock You, Phantom of the Opera and High Society.

No experience is necessary, and participants are encouraged to come along to have fun, meet new people and learn (or continue to develop) performance and technical theatre skills.

Price for one week (Mon-Fri): £125 per participant.

1. Performance Workshops

The theatre workshop will be split into two age groups, 7-11 (primary) and 12 -16 (secondary). Workshops exploring different musical styles will take place each day throughout the week in singing, dancing and drama.

2. Technical Workshops (only for age 12 - 16, secondary level)

Participants will work alongside members of the Hippodrome's technical team and learn exactly how shows are staged. Over the five days, they will learn: how to rig lighting, how to create special effects, the secrets of stage management, creating concert quality sound, and working with film and projection.

There are limited places available for this week, so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The Performance and Technical workshops will run simultaneously and participants will work together on delivering a final performance for friends and families on Fri 12 April.
