Hi Wendi - the original press release for the show quoted you as saying that you were looking forward to returning to musicals - is it living up to expectation?

I'm having a wonderful time remembering how to sing and dance at the same time. The score is so wonderful and all the cast sound amazing.

It also quoted you as saying it's a role you've had your eye on for years - what's the appeal of this character?

I've known the score since it was originally produced here and it's always been one of my favourites. As far as Princess Puffer goes, she's a great character role - a wonderful Dickensian madam but with a great back story.

And what do you think is the appeal of the show as a whole?

The appeal is a mixture of Dickens, a wonderful score, a whodunnit, and the X-Factor style ending where the audience choose the murderer for the evening!

The Landor is one of my favourite theatres in London full stop, both for its programming and for the atmosphere there - how are you looking forward to working in such an intimate space?

I'm really looking forward to it. The smallest I've played is about 100, and the intimacy is wonderful - the audience really feel they are part of the show.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood runs at the Landor Theatre from Wednesday 11th April - Saturday 5th May 2012.
