Shaw Festival Box Office Opens

By:

Tickets to the Shaw Festival's season of eleven compelling productions go on sale online, by fax or by mail to the general public on January 9, 2013. Telephone lines open and in person sales begin January 12. Early ordering prices are in effect until the end of the month.

The Shaw Festival's 52nd season begins April 3, 2013, runs until October 27, 2013 and features eleven productions on the Festival's four Niagara-on-the-Lake stages. This season features a potent and diverse mix of plays from the past and present - Major Barbara, one of Shaw's wittiest and most provocative plays; the "greatest of all American musicals" Guys and Dolls; Oscar Wilde's bitingly satirical Lady Windermere's Fan; and the timelessly beautiful Enchanted April. There's also the world premiere of Peace in our Time: A Comedy (adapted from Shaw's Geneva); the Tony-award winning musical The Light in the Piazza; Trifles, a Lunchtime presentation of two one-act plays; the social comedy Our Betters; Brian Friel's compelling Faith Healer and Arcadia, the Tom Stoppard contemporary Shavian masterpiece.

The Shaw Festival also offers a variety of 'beyond-the-stage' activities that include backstage tours, a Guys and Dolls Sing-Along, pre-performance events, teen workshops and creative workshops, as well as three and four-day full theatrical immersion seminars.

The Shaw has customized pricing for students, seniors and those under 30. Patrons can access this special pricing throughout the 2013 season. Early ordering savings are also available for those who purchase tickets by January 31, 2013. All patrons purchasing tickets in January will receive complimentary wine tasting vouchers from Peller Estates and Trius Winery at Hillebrand - a $28 value per couple.
