The Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company's celebrated CONVERSATIONS ON THE GREEN series continues with politician and diplomat Stephen Lewis, on Monday, February 27, 7:30pm at the Jane Mallett Theatre (St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, 27 Front Street East, Toronto).

Hosted by Ralph Benmergui, CONVERSATIONS ON THE GREEN features one-on-one chats with notables from the world of theatre, art, literature and politics speaking on how Jewish culture has influenced their life and chosen profession.

Individual tickets are $36.00 (plus HST/service charges) and are available by calling 416.366.7723, online at www.stlc.ca or at the door.

Interspersed within the season on Monday evenings, the 2011/12 series opened with Eugene Levy (Oct 24/11); continued with businessman and former politician PAUL GODFREY (Nov 28/11); and following Stephen Lewis (Feb 27/12) concludes with beloved stage, film and television actress Marion Ross (May 14/12).

As a Canadian politician, diplomat and international envoy for humanitarian efforts, Stephen Lewis has dedicated himself to improving the human condition.  Formerly the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, Stephen Lewis is Chair of the Board of the Stephen Lewis Foundation in Canada, Distinguished Visiting Professor at Ryerson University in Toronto, and Co-Director of AIDS-Free World, an international AIDS advocacy organization based in the United States.

Mr. Lewis is a member of the Board of Directors of the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) and an Emeritus Board member of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI). He also serves as a Commissioner on the Global Commission on HIV and the Law, created by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with the support of the Joint United Nations Program of HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).
