Cast Announced For BECOMING BANKSY

Cast Announced for 'Becoming Banksy,' Comedy Debuting at The Redwood Next Month

TORONTO: A stellar set of Toronto talent has been cast for Becoming Banksy, a whirlwind comedy debuting at the historic Redwood Theatre (1300 Gerrard Street E) next month.

The Banksy team is proud to announce Anurag Choudhury, Danny Pagett and Caitlin Driscoll as the lead cast of this hilarious play. The trio of performers are show biz veterans of both the stage and screen, representing the best of Toronto's creative pool.

Becoming Banksy explores what happens when a confused tourist is mistaken for the world's most famous artist. The show comes from the creators of Channeling Kevin Spacey, a comedy that rocked Toronto before a two-year run off Broadway.

CAST AND CREATIVE:

Caitlin Driscoll (MARY) is a Dora-nominated actor, as well as a writer and dialect coach. Along with her many stage credits, Driscoll has
appeared on "The Neddeaus of Duqesne Island" (CBC) and "Reign" (CW).

Anurag Choudhury (WILL) is a British stage, film, and voice performer who has just recently migrated to Toronto. Banksy will be Choudhury's Toronto stage debut.

Daniel Pagett (MARK) is a Toronto based actor, writer and director who has performed all over the Toronto indie scene. This past year, three of his written works have been produced in Toronto. Daniel is a member of Theatre Brouhaha, Red One Theatre Collective, and Sex T Rex. He is also the artistic director of Scapegoat Collective.

Benjamin Blais (DIRECTOR) is founder of both The Storefront Theatre and the Red One Theatre Collective. He is also a critically acclaimed performer and Dora-nominated director ("Tough Jews," 2017) with over a hundred productions under his belt.

Cory Terry (WRITER/PRODUCER) earned his masters in Dramatic Writing from New York University. He co-wrote the fringe hit The Movies (abridged) as well as the comedy Channeling Kevin Spacey. His play Markers was published by Applause Theatre and Cinema Books.

Elan Wolf Farbiarz (WRITER/PRODUCER) has produced and directed shows across the United States and Canada, receiving top honors in Toronto,
Edmonton, Winnipeg and Orlando. He has authored several comedies and appeared in and produced international tours of The Bible (abridged), The Movies (abridged) and Channeling Kevin Spacey.

Becoming Banksy is part fast-paced comedy, part heartwarming introspective, making it the can't-miss show of the theatre season.
