After winning the four most important awards at the Israel Theatre Awards and accumulated a loyal fan base, Haifa Theatre received an official invitation to present the musical "Billy Schwartz" at the next summer season of the Harold Green Jewish Theatre in Toronto. The musical will be performed in front of thousand of viewers from all across Canada and North America.

The "Harold Green", which was founded by two highly esteemed Canadian actors, Avery Saltzman and David Eisner, with the vision to present Jewish themes and illuminate humanity through a Jewish perspective, hosts on its stages every year leading Israeli plays.

"Billy Schwartz", a Haifa Theatre production, is based on an original idea by Ohad Hitman, who also wrote the music and lyrics of the musical. It was created by Hitman and Shirli Deshe and directed by Daniel Efrat.

The cast includes Talli Oren, Miki Kam, Amir Hilel, Nili Tseruya. Roy Oppenheim conducts the live 10 piece orchestra that's located on stage.

Billy Schwartz (Talli Oren) is a grey secretary in an accountants' office who dreams of a better life while spending her days between phone calls in the office and phone calls from her mother (Miki Kam), who insists to marry her off at any price. All this is about to change in the day where a megastar, Jonathan Gur Lavi (Amir Hilel), enters Billy's life and asks her out on a date. Billy falls in love head over heels with Jonathan and even receives a marriage proposal, but on her wedding day she finds out that life is not exactly a Disney movie and finds herself on a fateful crossroad that will change everything she ever thought about herself and about love.

"Billy Schwartz" is an urban comic musical about self fulfillment and true love that's presented with an abundance of self humor. A story from our every day life as we all know closely.
