The House of Flightless Birds is part of the 2024 TYA Playwrights Festival hosted by ThinkTank Theatre. Written by Baylee Shlichtman and directed by John Perez, this staged reading follows undiagnosed autistic Manuel, who makes a wish to a satellite to escape his loneliness. His life takes an unexpected turn when an injured sparrow crashes onto his patio, leading to a poignant exploration of masculinity, family, and care. The reading features a mix of local professional actors and Young Artists’ Ensemble Company Members.
