My Year of Saying No is an autobiographical one-woman show written and performed by Janice Creneti, developed and directed by Jessica Lynn Johnson. Set during the COVID-19 pandemic, the serio-comedy explores mental health, sexism, and societal expectations through multimedia and multiple characters, including Patriarchy, Perfection, Zoom, Janice's Body, and COVID. The show follows one woman's journey to confront what isn't working in her life and the world, and to find her way back to herself. My Year of Saying No is the first production in The Off-Central Players' new initiative, Think Inside the Box, which aims to give voice to artists and stories outside the mold of traditional theatrical offerings.
