After the highly successful engagement preview performances at Carrollwood Cultural Center in June, The Salerno Theatre Co. is thrilled to return with the full-length production version of SERIOUSLY SINATRA. The same, enhanced and lengthened version of the show that is currently touring the State of Florida, Salerno has updated and retooled SERIOUSLY SINATRA with more of your favorite songs, video interviews and additional footage by and about "Old Blue Eyes."

Frank Sinatra once said: "You only live once and the way I live, once is enough." If all Frank Sinatra had was an unmistakable, velvet voice and unprecedented musical phrasing, he would still have become a legend. From his meteoric rise to become the first Pop Idol to his reign as the 20th Century's greatest vocalist, SERIOUSLY SINATRA celebrates the life and extraordinary achievements of this celebrated artist. SERIOUSLY SINATRA pays tribute to Sinatra with hallmark songs and heartfelt video interviews from some of his best friends in the entertainment business, his family and with Frank Sinatra himself. Join us to celebrate this legendary icon who, for more than 50 years, provided the soundtrack for millions of Americans.

Frank Sinatra (1915-1998), singer and actor, began his musical career in the swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey. He became a successful solo artist in the early to mid- 1940s, being the idol of the "bobby soxers". His professional career had stalled by the 1950s, but it was reborn in 1954 after he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in From Here to Eternity. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Man with the Golden Arm. He also starred in such musicals as High Society, Pal Joey, Guys and Dolls and On the Town. Frank Sinatra turned 50 in 1965, recorded the retrospective September of My Years, starred in the Emmy-Winning television special Frank Sinatra: A Man and His Music, and scored hits with Strangers in the Night and My Way.

Sinatra was honored at the Kennedy Center Honors in 1983 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Ronald Reagan in 1985 and the Congressional Gold Medal in 1997. Sinatra was also the recipient of eleven Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Trustees Award, Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center is a partnership between Hillsborough County and the Friends of the Carrollwood Cultural Center. It is the first cultural center in the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department system and opened in March 2008. The building is a complete renovation of the old St. Mark's Episcopal Church and a new addition that provides more than 22,000 square feet of space for the arts.

The mission of the Friends of the Center is to offer cultural programs, services and events that encourage individual exploration and promotes a sense of community. The Center participates with several Florida interest groups to promote the arts and its influences throughout the community. These groups offer intergenerational programs as well as initiatives that address particular individual needs and encompass graphic and performing arts, continuing education, and community outreach programs.
