Carrollwood Players Theatre to Take Part in Give Day Tampa Bay, 5/3

The theme for 2016 is "Live Here, Give Here" and Carrollwood Players Theatre is proud to be participating in the third annual Give Day Tampa Bay on May 3, 2016.

The charity, which is Tampa's oldest continually-running, volunteer-driven nonprofit community theatre, is hoping that 2016 will be as successful, if not more so, than their inaugural participation last year. They are encouraging patrons, friends, and family to donate to our efforts to continue to bring quality live theatre to our local Tampa Bay community.

Sponsored by the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, Give Day Tampa Bay is a 24-hour, online giving event, designed to increase philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area and raise awareness of the amazing work local nonprofits do in this community. This is the third year that the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay has sponsored this event, which raised $1.75 million for 550 Tampa Bay area nonprofits last year.

In addition to raising awareness of the participating nonprofits, Give Day Tampa Bay offers many different cash prizes to its nonprofit participants - from most dollars raised to most unique donors and many additional categories based upon time the donation is received.

"We are excited to participate in our second Give Day Tampa Bay because we experienced first-hand how beneficial it was to us and our fundraising efforts to help toward our goal of moving into a new and larger home," said Jennifer Martin, theatre fundraising chair.

Last year they raised over $2500 in direct donations and won the sunrise prize of $5,000, for a total of over $7,500.

"Donations can be made via computer, cell phone, and tablet. We will be hosting a donor appreciation party for our online donors from 7-9pm at the theatre. Donations by check must be made out Carrollwood Players with "Give Day" indicated in memo line and received no later than May 2nd to count towards cash prize contests. All donations made are tax-deductible," said Martin. "It would also be great win another cash prize in the contest prize pool like we did in 2015."

To increase awareness of Carrollwood Players Give Day Tampa Bay participation, the nonprofit has been active in social media promotion and community outreach. It will also list all donors on its website.
