American Stage in the Park to Hold Auditions for RENT 12/6-7

By:

American Stage Theatre Company announced Equity Performer (Principal/Chorus) and non-Equity auditions for the American Stage in the Park production of RENT by Jonathan Larson, directed by Eric Davis, musical directed by Vince di Mura. Auditions will be held at American Stage on Monday, December 6 and Tuesday, December 7 from noon to 5 p.m.

How to Audition:
Please prepare a pop/rock song appropriate to the 1990s style of the music in the show. Please do not sing musical theatre songs unless they are from RENT, or a similarly authentic pop/rock score of the same period. You may be asked to read sides from the script, which will be available at the audition.

Non-Equity actors will be put on a waiting list and will be seen whenever there is no Equity Member auditioning or waiting.

Auditions should not exceed three minutes; slots will last five minutes. Callbacks will be at a later date. An accompanist will be provided. Sides for visually-impaired actors will be provided by request 48 hours in advance.

Auditions will take place at American Stage, 163 3rd Street North in downtown St. Petersburg. Appointments can be made by calling T. Scott Wooten at 727-823-1600 ext. 212, or emailing him at tscottw@americanstage.org. Include your name and phone number and options as to two appointment times that will work for you. You will receive a return confirmation.
