AIDA Opens At The Manatee Players 2/23-3/11
Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA will open at the Manatee Players on February 23 and play through March 11. Performances are Tuesday – Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $25 including facility fee for adults and $11 including facility fee for students. Tickets may be reserved by calling 748-5875 Monday – Friday from 9-5 and one hour before curtain on performance days or on the Manatee Players' website: www.manateeplayers.com. All performances are at 102 Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton.
About the show: "Elton John AND Tim Rice'S AIDA is a contemporary musical take on a grand classic tale of the timeless bond between an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier. As forbidden love blossoms between them, the young lovers are forced to face death or part forever. Together, they set a shining example of true devotion that ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity.

About the cast: "The talented cast includes Candace Delancy as Aida, William E. Masuck as Radames, Trina Rizzo as Amnaris, Getshall Vikkari as Amonasro, Dan Yonko as Zoser, Rodd Dyer as Pharaoh, Ty Cocroft as Mereb, and Beatrice Fletcher-Miller as Behebka. Also in the cast are Corinne C. Woodland, Katie Zanders, Delanie Wallace, Emma Slotabec, Lauren McDuffie, Jalynne Brown, Juliet Brown, Janaye Brown, Desmond Brown, Precious McQueen, Krissy Pizzo, Adam King, Ryan Hart, Joseph Rebella, Brian Strubbe, Brandon Jamora, Alex Beach and Phillip Morehouse."
The show is being directed and choreographed by Rick Kerby with Aaron Cassette as musical director.
