Lord of the Flies at Theatre Works

Adapted by Nigel Williams from William Golding's novel and directed by Steven Mitchell Wright, this production reimagines the story of boys stranded on an isolated island after a plane crash as a visceral, physical theatrical event. Performed by a diverse ensemble of male, non-binary, and trans performers including Will Bastow, Oliver Cowen, Darcy Crawford, Oliver Gorringe, Sam Finn Gudgeon, Hugo Gutteridge, Sean Yuen Halley, Angus Leighton, Declan Magee, Alvin Prasad, Blaise Tindale, and Charlie Veitch, the work explores masculinity, authority, tribalism, and the collapse of civilisation. The production draws on influences ranging from punk and electronica to reality television series like Outlast and Kid Nation.
