Welcome to the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of the Incarnate Word. Theatre Arts, a department in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, offers comprehensive training and education encouraging students to develop as performers, producers, designers, directors and the many roles needed to create the art of theatre.
UIW’s Department of Theatre Arts offers a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and is the only program in San Antonio that is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, ensuring that students receive theatre training that will meet established national standards of excellence in terms of content, production quality and teaching practices. A 16:1 student/faculty ratio means classes are generally small and allow for closer interaction with faculty and peers as well as specialized instruction.
