Undergraduate bachelor’s degrees are broken down into two categories: Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Fine Arts. The BFA program has a choice of concentration in Acting, Musical Theatre, or Design & Technology. The BA program is a more generalized Theatre Arts degree with coursework in multiple disciplines and areas of interest. Two minors are currently offered: Dance, and Theatre Arts. All BFA majors must audition to be admitted to the program, but BA majors and all minors do not need auditions. All prospective students must be fully admitted by the university to be considered for any Theatre Arts programs.
Acceptance Rate:
The University of Texas at Arlington's Department of Theatre Arts and Dance has a highly competitive BFA program in Acting, Musical Theatre, and Design & Technology, requiring a portfolio review, audition, and interview, with a focus on pre-professional training.
