Jersey City Theater Center is proud to present the latest installment of Black Space, hosted by Ashley Nicole Baptiste, a free web series that celebrates Black artists, educators and culture.  The latest episode will feature an interview with natyna bean, a multidisciplinary artist and educator who celebrates Black queer folks navigating and interrogating the presence and impact of American carceral systems.

The Curtis Symphony Orchestra's 2022–23 season will continue on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 2 p.m. with “Perry, Tchaikovsky, and Sheng” in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center.

CT Chapter of the League of Professional Theatre Women Celebrates Votes for Women with Play Excerpts

Two new members were voted to the League’s Board of Governors: Kendra Whitlock Ingram, President and CEO, Marcus Performing Arts Center, and Broadway producer Brian Moreland of B.More Now Productions, whose recent credits include four Broadway shows in the last two seasons with others in the works. 

Three excerpts from plays about women who forged the way for the 19th Amendment on the anniversary of its passage sponsored by the CT Chapter of the League of Professional Theatre Women.

Prior to relocating to Sarasota, he previously held leadership positions at Dallas Summer Musicals, Omaha Performing Arts, The Maryland Symphony Orchestra and Shenandoah Conservatory Performances. His areas of passion include individual and major gift fundraising, legacy giving, audience development, donor relations, patron loyalty, musical theatre, the history of musical theatre, special events, project management and marketing for the arts and nonprofit board governance.

The Board of Directors of the Marcus Performing Arts Center (Marcus Center) today announced that Kendra Whitlock Ingram will be the organization's next President & Chief Executive Officer. Ingram succeeds Paul Mathews, who, earlier this year, announced his plans to retire after more than two decades of leadership of the Marcus Center.

10 Hairy Legs, the male repertory dance company, continues national touring and adds débuts in its home state during its eighth season of performances and educational programming, following a summer of festival appearances as Guest Artists for Musical Theatre and Dance at The Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts and Cameo Artists for The Public Theater's Public Works new production of HERCULES at Central Park's Delacorte Theater.

LITTLE WARS. We all fight them. They could be wars of words, wars over ideologies, or wars about favorite sports teams. A cast and crew of seventeen students from University of Nebraska Omaha put their heads together and through devised theatre developed a production so unique, so special, that it held me mesmerized for the entire 55 minutes.

The University of Nebraska Omaha Theatre Department has devised something new: a student developed and enacted play that recently appeared in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, the largest arts festival in the world. 2Cents Theatre Group's 2019 Best of INK @Fringe production, Lear/Loman by Kate Schwartz, will play four more performances at the Broadwater Main Stage. Featuring Leon Russom as King Lear and Bruno Oliver as Willy Loman, the cast will also include (in alphabetical order) Lauran Dewey, Tim Kopacz, Heather Roberts, Sarah Schulte, and Ruben Uy. Under the direction of Scott Leggett, the remaining performances are Saturday 6/15 at 11:30am; Thursday 6/20 at 5pm; Saturday 6/22 at midnight; and Sunday 6/30 at 1:30pm. Running time is 60 minutes.
