Central Indiana Academy of Dance and Central Indiana Dance Ensemble would like to offer special congratulations to their Senior dancers, graduating this year and going on to pursue their future dreams. These dancers have spent close to 20 to 24 hours a week in classes and rehearsals this year. 

John Lemkemeier, a longtime Muny Board member, was elected Board Chair for a two-year term. Lemkemeier succeeds James Turley, retired Chairman & CEO from Ernst & Young, who served as Chair during the prior two years. Turley remains on the Muny Board and Executive Committee. Three newly elected Directors, Nicole Schnuck, Tamara Sheffield and Michael Torney, recently began their term.

The St. Louis Black Repertory Company announces a Panel Discussion on March 10, 2022 co-hosted by Ron Himes, Founder and Producing Director of The Black Rep and the Henry E. Hampton Arts in Residence at Washington University in St. Louis, and Rebecca Messbarger, Ph.D., Director of Medical Humanities, Director of Undergraduate Studies in Italian, and Professor of Italian. 

Metro Theater Company has named five distinguished professionals to its board of directors and four new staff to its existing team. The nationally recognized TYA company, which reaches tens of thousands of St. Louis-area students and families each year, has also appointed two celebrated St. Louis theatre performers/directors as associate artists.

The Frist Art Museum presents Medieval Bologna: Art for a University City, the first major museum exhibition in the United States to focus on medieval art made in the prosperous northern Italian city of Bologna. Conceived and organized by Frist Art Museum senior curator Trinita Kennedy, the exhibition of illuminated manuscripts, paintings, and sculptures will be on view in the Frist's Upper-Level Galleries from November 5, 2021, through January 30, 2022.

Ahead of its 10th anniversary season, the Young Women's Choral Projects of San Francisco (YWCP) announced today that Founding Director Susan McMane will retire in July 2022. At the end of the forthcoming season, Dr. McMane will conduct her final concerts with the Young Women's Chorus in San Francisco on Wednesday, June 23, 2022, and in Paris on Saturday, July 3, 2022.

The Saint Louis University Theatre & Dance Program of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts has announced its line-up for the 2021-2022 University Theatre & Dance Season. The selections for this season consist of traditional and contemporary works, as well as original work from university students.

The St. Louis Black Rep concludes its season of virtual programming with a mainstage production of an original work, Do I Move You?  It is based on a collection of poetry by Dr. Jonathan Smith I the Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at Saint Louis University.  He is also the President of The Black Rep Board of Directors. The performance will stream on Vimeo June 15-30.

The Mechanical Licensing Collective has announced the addition of three new members to its leadership team, with Kristen Johns (Chief Legal Officer), Nathan Osher (Assistant General Counsel – Publisher Relations) and Andrew Mitchell (Head of Analytics and Automation) joining the organization earlier this month. All three will be based in Nashville.

August Wilson is best known as the author of the American Century Cycle, a series of ten plays including Gem of the Ocean, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, The Piano Lesson, Seven Guitars, Fences, Two Trains Running, Jitney, King Hedley II, and Radio Golf. These works explore the heritage and experience of African Americans, decade-by-decade, over the course of the twentieth century.

The Arts and Education Council announced today they will accept grant applications beginning June 1 for a new Arts and Healing Initiative, in partnership with Missouri Foundation for Health.

The Muny announced today the choreographers and music directors for its Muny Kids and Teens 2020 season. The Muny's flagship education programs, The Muny Kids and Teens are two of nine offerings under The Crawford Taylor Education Initiative. Muny Director of Education, Tali Allen, and Artistic Associate, Michael Baxter, will serve as Artistic Directors for the groups.
