BMOP/sound Releases 'Steven Mackey: Time Release' Nov. 19

Known as the nation's foremost label launched by an orchestra and devoted exclusively to new music, BMOP/sound today announced the November 19th release of Steven Mackey: Time Release, led by conductor Gil Rose and performed by the musicians of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP) and percussionist Colin Currie. Growing up playing in rock bands in California, Grammy Award-winning composer Steven Mackey brings those influences to his classical concert music writing on his second BMOP/sound CD.
Princeton Symphony Orchestra To Receive $1.75 Million Donation

Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) has been named as the recipient of a $1.75 million grant from The Edward T. Cone Foundation. In recognition of this and the Foundation's prior gifts to the PSO's endowment, the orchestra's two most prestigious positions are named in perpetuity. Rossen Milanov is now the inaugural Edward T. Cone Music Director and violinist Basia Danilow now holds the George W. Pitcher Concertmaster Chair.
BMOP Begins New Season With Premieres By Mackey, Meltzer And Lash

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the nation's premier orchestra dedicated exclusively to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music, begins its 23rd season with Time Release: a one-night-only concert of orchestral music headlined by the American premiere of Steven Mackey's Time Release. Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Gil Rose, BMOP also celebrates the Boston premieres of Tonic by Steven Mackey, Concerto No. 2 for Harp and Orchestra by Hannah Lash, and Vision Machine by Harold Meltzer.
