On Friday, January 27 at 5:15 p.m., American Repertory Ballet will host "The Music of Pride and Prejudice," as part of its On Pointe educational series at its Princeton studios (301 N. Harrison Street, above McCaffrey's Supermarket). This lecture will feature guest speaker Simon Morrison, music scholar and Professor of Music at Princeton University. Attendees will listen to and discuss the music of Ignaz Pleyel, the Austrian-born French composer whose work provides the backdrop for Artistic Director Douglas Martin's world premiere of Pride and Prejudice.

Pride and Prejudice will premiere on April 21 and 22 at McCarter Theatre in Princeton, N.J. with live accompaniment by the Princeton Symphony Orchestra.

ARB launched On Pointe in 2010 to help make ballet more accessible to the community. The Enrichment Series brings guest speakers, lecture demonstrations, company performance previews, and panel discussions to seasoned dance enthusiasts and new students alike, on a monthly basis.
