The Belhaven University Music Department, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), seeks to produce leaders in the musical arts who will have influence in homes, churches, private studios, educational institutions, and on the concert stage. While developing the God-bestowed talents of our students, we seek to provide an understanding of the musical arts from a Christian worldview. The Bachelor of Arts in Music offers seven degree concentrations: Collaborative Piano and Pedagogy, Composition, Instrumental Music Education, Music Ministries, Musical Theatre, Performance, and Vocal Pedagogy and Choral Conducting. This accredited degree is designed to prepare students for graduate study while equipping them for vocational roles in performance, church music, and music education. Music students have the opportunity to participate in numerous choral and instrumental ensembles while preparing for careers in fields such as teaching, music therapy, performance, church music, composing, conducting and the music industry.
