The Belhaven University dance department's national accreditation, experienced faculty, biblical worldview, and beautiful facilities set it apart from other college dance programs. Degrees offered include a Master’s of Fine Arts in Dance, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Bachelor of Arts in Dance. These degree programs enable students to develop their God-given talents and gain in-depth knowledge in the field of dance from a biblical perspective.
The mission of the dance department is to prepare students spiritually, technically, academically, and artistically to move into the world of dance and affiliated careers in adherence with the mission of the university. Graduate students will have the opportunity to participate in creative and scholarly work through curricular offerings in technique, performance, choreography, research methodology, critical investigation and philosophy of dance, among others. Graduate curricular offering emphasize choreography and/or performance within the context of pedagogical, theoretical, and artistic inquiry. Undergraduate students receive a broad liberal arts and in-depth dance education to prepare them for graduate school, modalities for dance ministry, and careers in dance performance, dance education, and other dance related fields. Belhaven graduates have gone on to teach, perform and/or choreography with dance companies and repertory theatres across the country, as well as start their own companies and studios.

Pilobolus Selects Saratoga Performing Arts Center As Its 1st National Partner

Saratoga Performing Arts Center has announced that it has been selected as the first partner and incubation site to join modern dance company Pilobolus in the creation of a nationwide education program. Following an extensive feasibility study, SPAC is one of just three sites that the company will partner with for this multi-year initiative to expand their collective reach and impact.
