Spotlight: PRAYER FOR THE FRENCH REPUBLIC at New Jewish Theatre

You're invited to NJT for the St. Louis premiere of the recent Broadway hit, Prayer for the French Republic. This Tony-nominated play will be directed by NJT Artistic Director Rebekah Scallet, whose 2025 production of Cabaret was nominated for 13 Theater Circle Awards - the most of any other production in the St. Louis area!

In 1944, a Jewish couple in Paris desperately await news of their missing family. More than 70 years later, the couple’s great-grandchildren find themselves facing the same question as their ancestors: “Are we safe?”

Following five generations of a French-Jewish family, Prayer for the French Republic is a sweeping look at history, home and the effects of an ancient hatred.
