NonProphet Theatre Company Presents RECKLESS 12/3-12/12

By:

The NonProphet Theater Company presents the final show of their 2010 season Reckless by Craig Lucas opening Friday, December 3, 8pm at the Regional Arts Commission, 6128 Delmar Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri 63112. The show will run until Sunday, December 12 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 5pm. Tickets are $15 for general audiences and $12 for students (must provide a valid ID) and seniors (Ages 55+).

At home on Christmas Eve, Rachel is informed by her guilty husband that he has hired a hitman to kill her, and she must flee for her life-which she does by scrambling out the kitchen window and into the snowy night. She meets and joins up with Lloyd Bophtelophti, a true "original" who has changed his name to avoid alimony payments and who now lives with a paraplegic named Pooty (who also pretends to be deaf in order to get double disability). Rachel then wins $100,000 on a TV game show and begins a series of picaresque escapades involving numerous psychiatrists and, eventually, an ill-fated reunion with her husband. In the end, Rachel becomes a therapist herself, treating her own child (who fails to recognize her) and is led more and more to ponder whether the modern world might not be a vast conspiracy designed to systematically undermine her own increasingly shaky sanity.

Robert A. Mitchell directs the cast: Michelle Hand as Rachel, Tom Lehmann as Tom/Masked Man/Tom, Jr., Ben Ritchie as Lloyd, Katie Donnelly as Pooty/Sue, Reynard Fox as Roy/Tim Timko/Talk Show Host, Elizabeth Graveman as Trish/Woman Patient, and Theresa Masters as Doctors 1-6. Scenic Design by Elizabeth Hull and lighting by Nick Uhlmansiek.
