The play was first performed on Broadway in 1966. A film version was released in 1967 starring Audrey Hepburn. The tense plot twists and turns and ultimately shocks audiences.
Susy Hendrix (played by Caroline Kemerling) is a blind woman who lives with her husband Sam (Max Clements) in a basement apartment in Greenwich Village. Through a set of circumstances, Susy finds herself in possession of a very valuable doll. An evil man, Roat (Robert Carter), wants the doll and employs two con men to help him get it. Susy, with the help of Gloria (Elliott Lentz), a young girl, struggles to survive a vicious attack by these criminals.
