Annie The Musical at Chapin Theatre Company

Directed by Ella Riley, Choreography by Meredith Boehme, Musical Direction by Christyne McClellan

Annie is a beloved musical based on the comic strip Little Orphan Annie. Set in Depression-era New York City, it follows Annie, an optimistic, red-haired orphan who lives in a harsh orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie escapes and eventually meets billionaire Oliver Warbucks, who invites her to spend Christmas at his mansion. As Warbucks becomes attached to Annie, he helps search for her long-lost parents. Meanwhile, Miss Hannigan and her scheming brother Rooster see an opportunity to make money by pretending to be Annie’s parents.

The show combines comedy, heart, memorable characters, and upbeat songs, with the central message that optimism and kindness can overcome difficult circumstances.
