Trustus Theatre and Palmetto Luna Arts Present INOCENTES Y PECADORES, Now thru 11/7
By: BWW News Desk
Palmetto Luna Arts and Trustus Theater present "Inocentes y Pecadores" (Innocents and Sinners), two short original plays in Spanish by Lucia Vega and Julia Vargas, Columbia residents who hail from Peru and Colombia respectively. This is a rare opportunity for Midlands theater fans to see drama with a South American point of view. Even for those who do not speak Spanish "Inocentes y Pecadores" will bring a fascinating and distinctly different flavor to the theatergoing experience. "Inocentes y Pecadores" will be in the Trustus Side Door Theater tonight, November 5th – 7th at 8:00pm.
The first piece, "Abya Yala," is a ritualistic origin story that deals with the transformation of the individual and the importance of nature in the development of the human psyche. Incorporating music and dance, including a Tango, "Abya Yala" is a poetic and philosophical treat and a feast for the eyes and ears.
