Electric City Playhouse is now offering tickets for Southern Comforts, written by Kathleen Clark and directed by Richard Cowan, to all Season Members with General Ticket Sales starting May 24.

This sweet comedy is about two seventy-ish singles who meet purely by chance, over their common interest of baseball. Amanda, a petite, perky, grey-blonde church volunteer is charming, self-possessed and shrewd. Her Southern accent and ways soon wear down the tough, Northern hide of Gus, who had suffered through a long, lonely marriage. The thought of sex, let alone a discussion of such, gives him hyperventilation.

Yet, he eventually develops dependence and desire. The characters achieve a sense of intimacy and chemistry, both mutually and with their audience. Amanda Cross is played by Jane Gray Sullivan and Gus Klingman is played by Stan Sheftall. Showtimes are June 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 with Thursday, Friday, Saturday shows at 8 pm and Sundays at 3 pm. Tickets are just $15 for Adults, $13 for Seniors and $8 for Students.
