Acting Ensemble Stage Co. Now Accepting Submissions for 2014 PlayMaking Festival

By: Oct. 02, 2013

The Acting Ensemble Stage Company, Northern Indiana's Repertory Theatre, is accepting submissions from playwrights for its 2014 PlayMaking Festival. The festival highlights new works with stage readings of 10-minute plays, one acts, and full-length plays. The week-long festival is scheduled for mid-January, 2014.

All subject matter and styles are encouraged. With the exception of 10-miunute plays, all plays should not have been previously produced, however a previous stage reading of the play is acceptable.

10-minute plays will also be considered for The Acting Ensemble's "8X10," the theater's annual 10-minute play festival held in April, 2014. Full-length plays accepted for the reading will also be considered for PlayMaking's development program which will include a workshop production and then a full staged production as part of The Acting Ensemble's regular Main Stage season.

Deadline for submissions is November 30, 2013. For full-length plays, include a short synopsis, playwright's bio, and the first 10 pages of the play. 10-minute and one acts should include the full play along with playwright's bio.
