DARKIE Comes to POPArt Theatre

Using only mime, mask and sound, Darkie looks at the black body in a factory work setting. Set in the early 1990s, the show seeks to push the notion that the Darkie is expected to endure manual labour suggesting Darkie gaana lebaka la goikhutsa mo bophelong.

The show premiered at the 30 Years of the Market Theatre Lab celebrations, where it was selected for a full run at POPArt.
