The Rosebank Theatre welcomes back popular cabaret artist Cat Simoni when she returns to Cape Town with THE WAY WE WERE. THE WAY WE WERE is conjured from the life and music of Barbra Streisand: a rags-to-riches story of Streisand's life in the Bronx.
Musicals, movies, anecdotes and unforgettable songs: Cat's astoundingly pure, true voice is just perfect for the timelessly beautiful Streisand standards, from "The Way We Were" to "Woman in Love", featuring sensational music from some of the world's greatest songwriters including George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart and Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe.
After 10 years entertaining the international crème de la crème at the Bechsteins and Steinways of London's 5-star venues and exclusive clubs such as The Ritz, Dorchester, Mayfair, Carlton, Royal Automobile Club, Cat is loving being back home and introducing herself to South African audiences. She was last seen at the Rosebank Theatre in August in a light, fluffy and camp Jacques Brel and Françoise Hardy tribute show, FRANÇOISE HARDY & BREL, SO ALIVE, SO WELL!
THE WAY WE WERE will run at the Rosebank Theatre, at 16 Alma Road in Rosebank, from 4 - 9 January at 20:00, with two matinees on the 7th and 9th at 15:00. Tickets cost R120, with a R60 concession price for pensioners and students at the matinee performances only. Bookings can be made through Webtickets or by calling Liz on 072 316 6133.
