Hot on the heels of a successful run at the Kalk Bay Theatre and the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival, Cape Town's favourite rude, raunchy and rocking country cabaret returns to the Alexander Theatre for a pre-Grahamstown canter.

Country takes on a whole new meaning in this daring, dirty and delicious live musical revue. Hilarious original songs give country a makeover, a slapdown, and an ass-kick.

ANGELS ON HORSEBACK has been "reloaded" the outrageously talented Genna Galloway and the sexy and sassy Queen of Dirty Words, Alicia McCormick. In the saddle, directing and choreographing, is original HORSEBACK rider Fiona du Plooy, who describes the work of her cast on this show as follows:

They are guaranteed to get your house back, your heart unbroke and quite possibly your tongue in his... er... your cheek.

Written by Candice D'Arcy along with Du Plooy and the cast, ANGELS ON HORSEBACK features music composed by Jonathan Tait, who performs live on stage with Wesley Wolhuter.

ANGELS ON HORSEBACK runs at the Alexander Upstairs from 19 - 21 June at 21:00. Tickets are available from the Alexander Bar website, with tickets costing R100 if booked and prepaid online or R120 if paid on collection at the bar. For telephone enquiries, call 021 300 1652. The Alexander Bar, Café and Theatre is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.

The National Arts Festival run of the show takes place from 29 June - 3 July at the Masonic Back. Tickets cost R90 and can be booked through the National Arts Festival website.
