Washington Pavilion Introduces Radley Rex Dinosaur Character

Today the Washington Pavilion introduced a fun, interactive dinosaur character named Radley Rex.

"With the generous funding and support from the David B. Jones Foundation, the organization is able to bring this character to life through a fun children's coloring book and a mascot," said Darrin Smith, Washington Pavilion President and CEO. "Additionally, several programs are planned for using Radley Rex to serve the organization's mission to inspire, educate, entertain and enrich the region by creating opportunities for all to explore and experience the arts and science."

Adam Prunty is the artist who illustrated Radley Rex, and Barb and Kyle Wigg are the authors of the coloring book titled "Radley Rex Explores the Washington Pavilion." These individuals have been key partners to the Washington Pavilion, helping to develop and shape Radley Rex.

Radley Rex will be incorporated into weekly programming, will be found in the Pavilion's museums-the Kirby Science Discovery Center and Visual Arts Center-as well as in the lobby at some of the Pavilion's performances and special events. The coloring books will be distributed and used with children whenever Radley makes a public appearance.

One of Radley Rex's first public mascot appearances will be at the Washington Pavilion's 55th annual Sidewalk Arts Festival on Saturday, September 8. Radley will be greeting people and taking photos at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
