Peter Reckell, the Emmy nominated actor best known for playing Bo Brady, a role he originated in 1981 on the NBC drama Days of Our Lives, will take on the role of the suave and charismatic El Gallo when he joins the cast of the long running musical THE FANTASTICKS in a limited engagement that begins on September 5th and runs through September 25th the show's producers, Al Parinello and Catherine Russell announced today. This isn't the first time the he's performed in the show. Mr. Reckell played the role of The Mute (and covered The Boy) 35 years ago, in the Sullivan Street Production.

BEND IN THE ROAD, a new musical comedy, is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's (NYMF) 2013 Next Link Project. The shows stars, Martin Vidnovic and Alison Woods, recently caught a performance of the world's longest-running musical THE FANTASTICKS at the Snapple Theater Center. Both have strong ties to the show as Martin starred as Bellomy in this current revival and he played El Gallo in the original Sullivan Street Playhouse production in the 1970s. And Alison was selected by director Jason Alexander to play the leading role of Luisa in his all-star production of THE FANTASTICKS at Reprise with Eric McCormack and Lucas Grabeel. Aaron Carter celebrated his 25th Birthday last night, Dec. 7, with fans and the cast of The Fantasticks. Carter stars as the boy Matt in The Fantasticks, the world's longest running musical. After The Fantasticks, Carter graced the audience with a couple of songs on the piano. The cast and fans then sang "Happy Birthday" as Carter blew out candles on his cake and fans swarmed the star with gifts and warm wishes for his 25th birthday. Harvey Schmidt, the celebrated composer of The Fantasticks, visited the show for the first time in more than twenty years on Saturday, June 16, 2012. The Fantasticks star Nick Spangler is about to take the greatest adventure of his life as he becomes a competitor on the hit CBS reality series, 'The Amazing Race', joining him as his teammate will be his sister, Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Starr Spangler.
