BroadwayWorld has a first look at the The Old Globe's world premiere musical Almost Famous, with book and lyrics by Academy Award winner and San Diego native Cameron Crowe (films Jerry Maguire, Say Anythinga??, Fast Times at Ridgemont High).

First recorded in 1969, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT with music and lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, finally opened Off-Broadway in November 1981 and then moved to The Great White Way in January 1982 where the production received six Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, Book and Score. This ever-popular musical based on the a?oeCoat of Many Colorsa?? story from the Bible's Book of Genesis failed to win even one Tony, but has gone on to be one of the most popular, family-friendly stories with actors of all ages involved in the big-scale production performed around the world. Now being presented as the 40th production by The Aerospace Players, directed by John Woodcock and Angela Asch (who also choreographed the show), the dedicated (and all volunteer) cast features stand-out performances by many in the leading roles who make the story as fun to watch as it is entertaining.

Just yesterday, Irish Repertory Theatre presented SONDHEIM AT SEVEN, this season's Gala Benefit production, at The Town Hall. Featuring an introduction by Special Guest Angela Lansbury, SONDHEIM AT SEVEN honored Carmine D. Boccuzzi, Jr., Partner at Cleary Gottlieb LLP, and recognized the extraordinary contributions of Anne Anderson, Ambassador of Ireland to the United States; Barbara Jones, Consul General of Ireland in New York; and David Donoghue, Ambassador of Ireland to the United Nations.

The Other Theatre Company (TOTC) announces the return of the smash hit with a queer twist Barney the Elf, written by company member Bryan Renaud, music arrangements by Jermaine Hill, original direction by Carin Silkaitis, additional direction and choreography by Tommy Rivera-Vega, music direction by Ali Goodman, November 30 - January 1, 2017 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Previews are Tuesday, Nov. 29 and Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. Opening night is Thursday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Additional shows on Tuesday, Dec. 20 and 27, and Wednesday, Dec. 21. Adam Jacobs, star of Disney's upcoming Aladdin, and his wife of seven years, actress Kelly Jacobs, just announced the birth of twin boys Jack Loren Jacobs and Alex Gregory Jacobs. The twins were born early Monday morning, January 27, after a 25-hour labor, weighing in at 5 lbs, 12 oz and 4 lbs, 11 oz, respectively. Scroll down for a photo of the happy family!

James Rocco is the vice president of programming and producing artistic director of the Ordway Center for Performing Arts in Saint Paul, Minn. He is also the director, host and a performer in the Ordway's latest edition of BROADWAY SONGBOOK, this time, focusing on American musical theatre master, Cole Porter. I recently sat down to learn about James, the BROADWAY SONGBOOK: Cole Porter and what's next for the theatre.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the San Diego Premiere of God of Carnage, written by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton. The Tony Award-winning comedy is directed by Richard Seer and will run July 27 - Sept. 2 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run July 27 - Aug. 1. Today, we bring you legenday playwright Arthur Miller, circa 1993. Miller's most famous plays include: All My Sons (1947), Death of a Salesman (1949), The Crucible (1953), and A View from the Bridge. Miller's career as a writer spanned over seven decades, and he received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Prince of Asturias Award.

JERSEY BOYS, the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical, will celebrate its 5th Anniversary on Broadway Saturday, November 6. To mark this milestone, JERSEY BOYS held a series of events around the anniversary weekend of Saturday, November 6 through Monday, November 8. Among the events was a reception at the Empire Hotel.
