Der Erfolg 1998 in New York war immens und bescherte Komponist Stephen Flaherty und Buchautor Terrence McNally jeweils eine der begehrten Tony-Awards. Nach weiteren Erfolgen in London, Washington und abermals am Broadway erreicht RAGTIME nun am Staatstheater Braunschweig endlich auch das europaische Festland. Am vergangenen Freitag war Premiere, und das Publikum zeigte sich begeistert von diesem historischen, sozialkritischen Musical, und belohnte die Auffuhrung mit einer Standing Ovation.

Fiddlehead Theatre Company, in collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union, with the support of Mayor Thomas M. Tony Award-winning ensemble member Frank Galati returns to the helm at Steppenwolf Theatre Company with his stage adaptation of The March, Pulitzer Prize-finalist E.L. Doctorow's novel about General William Tecumseh Sherman's Civil War march through Georgia. This marks Galati's Second Stage production of a Doctorow novel, following the highly-acclaimed musical Ragtime (1998). The much-anticipated production features a cast of 26 playing a mix of fictional and historical characters. The March begins previews April 5 (Opening Night is April 15; Press Performances are April 14 at 3pm and April 17 at 7:30pm) and runs through June 10, 2012 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Tickets ($20 - $78) are on sale now (prices are subject to change).

The John F. Kennedy Center's new production ofTerrence McNally, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Tony Award® winning musical RAGTIME, based on the E.L. Doctorow novel, features direction and choreography by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, and a majestic 28-piece orchestra led by musical director James Moore. The production held a rehearsal sneak peek of the anticipated Broadway revival and BroadwayWorld's cameras were there.
On Saturday night, April 25, 2009, the Kennedy Center was packed and full of anticipation of this new production of Ragtime produced by the Kennedy Center. In attendance were Terrence McNally (book), Stephen Flaherty (composer), and Lynn Ahrens (lyricist).
Director Billy Porter and Grammy nominee Ledisi mark their debuts with Reprise Theatre Company in the 1990 musical 'Once on This Island,' opening the 2008-2009 season, September 2 to 14 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. The press opening is September 3. Bradley Rapier, founder of the Groovaloos, choreographs and Darryl Archibald is the music director. Reprise Theater Company is led by Artistic Director Jason Alexander and Producing Director Susan Dietz.
