HAIRSPRAY is a chipper, wildly energetic show, and if you can leave your inner skeptic at the door, you might see a glimmer of hope. If not that, then you’ll certainly have basked in some joy for a couple of hours.

A starry line-up of talent was hand to celebrate Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer), New York City’s award-winning pioneer in diversity and multi-ethnic casting in the performing arts since 1968, at its annual Gala Benefit Concert on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Theatre 555. The story is based on the character Luna, who gives the show its name, a young girl who lived all her life in the Arereje Community, a hippie refuge created by her parents hidden from the big cities. She lives a quiet life, but when she turns 18, she finds herself an orphan and feels something is missing from all that Paradise. That's where he “turns the corner” and meets Diego, a backpacker passing through the community, who enchants Luna leading her to believe that has finally found the last piece she needs to complete the perfect life.

Laguna Playhouse Artistic Director Ann E. Wareham is thrilled to announce the third show in the Laguna Playhouse 2016-2017 season, CHAPATTI, written by Christian O'Reilly and directed by David Ellenstein, based on the direction of Judith Ivey. "I just fell in love with this play and the beautiful and quirky love story at its center.  I think our audiences are about to fall in love with it too," says Wareham.  CHAPATTI will begin previews on Wednesday, January 11; will open on Sunday, January 15 at 5:30pm and will run through Sunday, January 29, 2016 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

Tony Award-winning writing team Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty and Tony Award winner Terrence McNally's musical A Man Of No Importance comes to 54 Below on March 15, for an all-star concert presentation. The show played off-Broadway at Lincoln Center in 2002, winning the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical. Since then it has become a beloved piece done by theaters all over the world. The score of A Man Of No Importance, including songs such as "Princess," "The Streets of Dublin," and "Love Who You Love," is treasured by musical theatre fans.

Walnut Street Theatre's 2012-2013 Independence Studio on 3 season opens with a mix of classic Holiday songs and fun 1950's tunes in PLAID TIDINGS, just in time for the holidays. Directed by Larry Raben, this toe-tapping production begins with previews on November 20th, opens November 29th and continues through December 30th in the Walnut's Independence Studio on 3. The 2008-2009 Reprise Theatre Company season continues with 'I Love My Wife' with book and lyrics by Michael Stewart and music by Cy Coleman, December 2 to 14 at the Brentwood Theatre. Lea Thompson and Patrick Cassidy join Vicki Lewis and Jason Alexander. 'I Love My Wife' will be directed by Larry Moss with choreography by Lee Martino and music direction by Michael Skloff.
