' I had never spoken to Charles before, but I instantly became his friend after our 30 minute phone conversation arranging his engagement at Barrington. He is brilliant and so interesting.'

The flyers on the seats at Barrington Stage Company's St Germain Stage were from a 1995 college appearance by William Kunstler, They said in bold letters 'BOYCOTT - Kunstler is a sellout and a hypocrite His defense of Traiters; Terrorists; and Rapists is an insult to the causes for what which he once stood.' Well, these flyers were correct about Jeff McCarthy in Kunstler being a 'sell out' (audience-wise) at Barrington Stage with his brilliant portrayal of the famed defense lawyer.

Last night, December 19, Town Hall overflowed with the musical joys of the season when three extraordinary talents, Leslie Uggams, Marilyn Maye and Christine Andreas took the stage for Holiday Belles. These award-winning singers brought their unique and diverse talents to the celebration, performing songs from the musical theater and the American Songbook, as well as holiday favorites. The concert, conceived and directed by Michael Bush, featured each singer performing her own individual set, and then brought them together for a very merry finale of holiday melodies. Critically Acclaimed Tribute Artists Peter Mac and DJ Schaefer have a new weekly home in Studio City, CA in a new cabaret room built atop the world famous Oil Can Harry's aptly called Peter Mac's Upstairs at Oil Can Harry's. Currently playing in repertory are Golden Girls LIVE: A Drag Parody and Judy Garland Takes Broadway with Ethel Merman. Golden Girls marks the 10th Anniversary revival of the runaway hit which played at Roses Turn in NYC for over 154 performances in 2003. At a recent performance of Golden Girls original Co-Producer Marsha Posner came out to support the drag troop on February 23, 2013. See a picture of her with the cast below!

The Negro Ensemble's "Cabaret Émigre," a stageplay by Sophia Romma, will make its debut on November 2 at 8 pm at the Lion Theater in NYC's theater district. A satirical story about emigrants who have traveled to the U.S. throughout the 1900s, the play spotlights a Russian Jew, African, Latino, German and various other emigres who made this difficult travel in pursuit of the American Dream. The show makes the audience question: Did they achieve this dream? Was it worth it? And, just in time for New Yorkers to decide which president will help them to achieve their goals in the upcoming years. The show runs through Sunday, November 18.
