Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, begins Season XIII: Celebrating the Extraordinary with Eugène Ionesco’s The Chairs. Directed by Quintessence’s Artistic Director Alexander Burns, The Chairs, full of absurdist philosophy, witty wordplay and slapstick comedy runs through October 23. Glen Tetley Legacy completes its first virtual ballet staging.  The Rite of Spring (1974) one of choreographer Glen Tetley’s most technically difficult works received its premiere engagement by Suzhou Ballet Theatre on September 12, 13, 2020 in China at the Suzhou Culture and Arts Center before a live audience.

Dermot Crowley, Ciarán Hinds, Seamus O'Hara, Judith Roddy, and Rufus Wright return to reprise their roles, with Jack Bardoe, Liádan Dunlea, Fra Fee, Amy Molloy and Julian Moore-Cook joining the cast. TheaterWorksUSA presents World Premiere of Dog Man: The Musical. The Old Globe today announced that the West Coast premiere of Laurel Ollstein's They Promised Her the Moon has been extended by popular demand and will run through May 12, 2019. The first of two shows in the 2018-2019 Season developed in the Globe's Powers New Voices Festival, it wowed Festival audiences with the story of the powerful forces that kept one woman from reaching orbit. Directed by Giovanna Sardelli (the Globe's The Whipping Man and Somewhere), They Promised Her the Moon runs April 6 - May 12, 2019 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run April 6-10. 

The Phantom of the Opera at the Finnish National Opera is a great, must see performance of the well-known musical. It's a show with a big budget, something you can't see anywhere else in Finland.
