The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, continues the 25th Anniversary of its acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series celebrating the work of the legendary librettist and lyricist Alan Jay Lerner, whose hundredth birthday was August 31, 2018. The series honors one of the creators behind such classics as Brigadoon, Camelot, Love Life, and My Fair Lady.

The Cape Playhouse very proudly presents, South Pacific, the award winning Broadway musical. Starring Becky Gulsvig, Mike McGowan, Tim Rogan, Shea Renne, Michael Thomas Holmes, and Yvonne Strumecki; and directed by Michael Rader. One of Rogers and Hammerstein's most beloved scores, South Pacific runs August 7-18, 2018.

Music Theatre Wichita concludes its 2018 Season with the return of Disney's "The Little Mermaid," directed and choreographed by Linda Goodrich, with musical direction by Thomas W. Douglas. The 60-member cast includes Broadway veterans working alongside some of the nation's most promising new talent, all showcased in an brand-new staging, featuring imaginative sets and costumes inspired by the classic Disney film. In 2011, Music Theatre Wichita was one of the first three theatres in the country to receive permission from the Disney Company to produce this title following its Broadway run, and the new edition marks the local premiere of the newly revised script and score. "The Little Mermaid" runs for ten performances, August 8-18 at the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, Kansas.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full cast and creative team for the world-premiere musical Snow Child, based on Eowyn Ivey's Pulitzer Prize-nominated novel. Infused with a score that combines Alaskan string band-traditions with contemporary musical theater, Snow Child follows a couple rebuilding their lives in the Alaskan wilderness when they meet a magical and mysterious snow child who transforms them.

Drury Lane Theatre concludes its 2017-2018 season with the irresistible Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Pioneer Theatre Company presents the Disney hit Newsies. The Tony-winning musical opens Friday, Dec. 1, and runs through Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017. Newsies occupies the traditional holiday spot. Keeping with what is now a seven-year tradition of collecting donations for local nonprofits, PTC will partner with Granite Education Foundation to collect new books for 'Santa Sacks' for children ages K-12.
