Last night (Friday, January 11, 2019) Disney Theatrical Productions hosted 'Disney Theatrical at 25: The Stars Align' at BroadwayCon in Manhattan. The lively panel was made up of some of the stars who created these indelible shows and characters in their original productions. Moderated by Disney Theatrical Productions head Thomas Schumacher, the panel was a fascinating and hilarious discussion filled with behind-the-scenes stories. Panelists included Christian Borle (Tony®-winning Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher), Ashley Brown(title role in Mary Poppins), Merle Dandridge (Kala in Tarzan), Susan Egan (Belle in Beauty and the Beast), James Monroe Iglehart(Tony-winning Genie in Aladdin), and Patti Murin (Anna in Frozen).

Luminaries from the hotel and tourism industries were treated to a special live performance from Broadway's Ashley Brown as the Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) hosted the "Red Carpet Hospitality Gala," HANYC's Annual Dinner on Monday, November 26, 2018. A veteran Broadway actress, Brown played Belle in Beauty and the Beast and originated the title role in Mary Poppins. The fundraiser took place at JW Marriott Essex House in Manhattan. A portion of the proceeds from the gala will go towards the HANYC Scholarship Fund.

The York Theatre Company presents the world premiere of the new musical comedy Christmas in Hell with book, music, and lyrics by Gary Apple ('The Simpsons'), with direction and choreography by Bill Castellino (Desperate Measures, York/New World Stages) andmusic direction, music supervision, and arrangements by Logan Medland (National Tours of Cats and Crazy for You). Music Theatre Wichita concludes its 2018 Season with the return of Disney's "The Little Mermaid," directed and choreographed by Linda Goodrich, with musical direction by Thomas W. Douglas. The 60-member cast includes Broadway veterans working alongside some of the nation's most promising new talent, all showcased in an brand-new staging, featuring imaginative sets and costumes inspired by the classic Disney film. In 2011, Music Theatre Wichita was one of the first three theatres in the country to receive permission from the Disney Company to produce this title following its Broadway run, and the new edition marks the local premiere of the newly revised script and score. "The Little Mermaid" runs for ten performances, August 8-18 at the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, Kansas.

Berkshire Theatre Group, celebrating its 90th milestone season, presents the musical Tarzan with book by David Henry Hwang, and music & lyrics by Phil Collins, based on the story "Tarzan of the Apes" by Edgar Rice Burroughs and the Disney film, Tarzan.

Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME showcases the film's Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Tony and Academy Award-winners Alan Menken (LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, THE LITTLE MERMAID, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN, POCAHONTAS) and Stephen Schwartz (GODSPELL, PIPPIN, WICKED, POCAHONTAS). Peter Parnell's new book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo's gothic novel.

Last night, Aladdin celebrated its second birthday on London's West End. The show was celebrated with a celebrity gala that included guests such as Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall, Marcus Collins, Amelia Lily, Ore Oduba, Ryan Molloy, Killian Murphy, Made in Chelsea's Ryan Libbey, and London Hughes.
