Hampstead Theatre has released production images for the world premiere of Florian Zeller’s new play, The Forest.  Running until 12 March 2022, The Forest is translated by Zeller’s long-time collaborator Christopher Hampton, and directed by Jonathan Kent, who re-unites with Zeller after his critically acclaimed production of The Height of the Storm.

Kansas City Actors Theatre has completed casting for its production of Ariel Dorfman's "Death and the Maiden," which will run from January 9th to the 27th at the City Stage in Union Station. The production will be directed by Cinnamon Schultz and will star Vanessa Severo, Robert Gibby Brand, and Rusty Sneary. The production team includes Gary Mosby (Scenic Designer,) Deb Morgan (Properties Designer), Georgianna Buchanan (Costume Designer), Shane Rowse (Lighting Designer), Jonathan Robertson (Sound Designer), Mary Allison Joseph (Dramaturg), and Kyle Dyck (Technical Director).

Public performances for The Crucible are Saturday, October 7 at 3pm and 7:30pm; Sunday, October 8 at 3pm; Friday, October 13 at 7:30pm; Saturday, October 14 at 3pm and 7:30pm; and Saturday, October 21 at 3pm and 7:30pm in the Downstairs Theatre. The press performance is Saturday, October 7 at 3pm. Weekday performances are reserved for school groups only. Eugene Ionesco, Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter and Edward Albee are Theatre of the Absurd playwrights. Unlike modern-movement writers like Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams and William Inge, who wrote realistic plays which included solutions to problems or resolved situations, the Absurdists based their plays on Existentialism, asking, 'Why do we exist?' but giving no answers. Their writings are full of questions to ponder and probe.

Originally written in 2013 when it was long-listed for the Bruntwood Prize, The Bunker's production stars Tia Bannon (The Winter's Tale and Pericles, The Globe) and Mark Rose (King Lear, The Old Vic; Hangmen, Royal Court).
