La Strada Photos - West End

Early in my acting career, I was represented by an agency that got me an audition for a recurring role in the series Breaking Bad. It clearly would have been the biggest break of my acting career. I had a short side of two pages to learn for the audition. Usually, I have a pretty photographic memory for lines, and I work hard to be sure I know them cold. But for this audition due to nervousness I could never get the lines solid, and sadly what the producers saw was not a potential character in their show, but an actor clearly struggling to remember the next word he was supposed to say. My biggest opportunity and worst audition all rolled into one disappointing 10-minute take.

Ahead of its second birthday in the West End this spring, the critically acclaimed and Olivier Award-nominated The Comedy About A Bank Robbery announces a new company. After a year of good behaviour at the Criterion the second company have been released on parole, with a new band of inmates starting performances from 27 February. Joining the cast are Samson Ajewole (Cooper), Jenna Augen (Ruth Monaghan), Jack Baldwin (Officer Shuck), Leonard Cook (Robin Freeboys), Matt Douglas-Hunt (Mitch Ruscitti) and Peter McGovern (Warren Slax). Continuing their roles as the bars-crossed lovers are Samuel Fogell (Sam Monaghan) and Holly Sumpton (Caprice Freeboys), and literally completing the cast is Chris Leask (Everyone Else).

LAST DITCH PLAYLIST, a new play by Brad Baron, who is also featured in the production along with Ross McCorkell, Amy Stringer and Dontonio Demarco will be presented on August 17, 18 and 19 (Thursday - Saturday) at 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Theaterlab, located at 357 West 36th Street, 3rd floor, between 8th and 9th Avenues. One of the true masterpieces of modern cinema, Federico Fellini's 1957 Oscar-winning film, LA STRADA (The Road), is being brought life on stage in a brand new adaptation directed by Olivier Award nominee Sally Cookson, with music composed by Benji Bower. The production received its world premiere at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, followed by a national tour. The show opened on 30 May in its London premiere at The Other Palace, the newest addition to Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Theatre Group, where it will run until 8 July 2017.
