Sardi's just hosted the caricature unveiling for Jason Robert Brown, who was just nominated for two Tony Awards for The Bridges of Madison County. Brown was joined by family, friends, colleagues and the company of The Bridges of Madison County for the special event. Eataly just hosted a special event between The Bridges of Madison County's Kelli O'Hara who plays Italian- born Francesca Johnson in the show, and world famous chef Lidia Bastianich, who is also a part-owner of Eataly. Eataly is the largest Italian marketplace in the world, committed to promoting high-quality, gourmet yet affordable "regional Italian food with a local twist," and is home to its cooking school, La Scuola di Eataly New York (200 5th Avenue). Lidia welcomed Kelli to La Scuola yesterday to help recreate Lidia's favorite dishes inspired from Broadway's The Bridges of Madison County. The Bridges of Madison County, the new musical based on the best selling novel by Robert James Waller, opened last night, February 20, 2014, at 8:00 PM at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street). Four-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara reunites with Bartlett Sher, the Tony- winning director of South Pacific and The Light in the Piazza, for a stunning new musical by the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning team of Marsha Norman and Jason Robert Brown. The 92Y TALKS presented an evening with the stars and director of the new Broadway musical The Bridges of Madison County prior to it's opening on Broadway. A talk with 'Bridges' Four-Time Tony Award-nominee Kelli O'Hara, Steven Pasquale, and Tony Award-Winning director Bartlett Sher was moderated by Tony Award winning composer/lyricist Adam Guettel in the 92Y's Buttenwieser Hall. The box office of the newly renovated Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) opened yesterday, November 25, 2013, for The Bridges of Madison County, which will begin performances on Friday, January 17, 2014. The opening night is set for Thursday, February 27, 2014. Rehearsals will begin Monday, December 9, 2013. In celebration of the opening, customers who visited the box office between 10AM and 11AM were entered to win a special, grand prize - an original love song, written and performed by Jason Robert Brown. In addition, the first 25 people in line received special The Bridges of Madison County gift bags. BroadwayWorld was there for the special celebration and you can check out photos below!
