Les Miserables Photos - Broadway

The cast celebrated the milestone with a post-performance party at Tony's di Napoli Restaurant, featuring the unveiling of a portrait featuring stars John Owen-Jones (Valjean) and Hayden Tee (Javert) by artist Dan May for the restaurant's Broadway Wall of Fame.  The party was hosted by Bruce Dimpflmaier and Tony's di Napoli and emceed by Valerie Smaldone. Just last night, Tony Award-nominee Montego Glover and Alex Finke and Alfie Boe joined the company of  Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's Les Miserables on Broadway. Glover succeeds Erika Henningsen as Fantine, while Finke (making her Broadway debut) replaces original cast member Samantha Hill. Boe takes over for Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo as Jean Valjean. This newly-reimagined production of Les Miserables, starring Ramin Karimloo, Will Swenson, Caissie Levy, and other stage vets, opened on Broadway March 23, 2014 to mass critical acclaim. Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil & Schonberg's Les Miserables just welcomed several new cast members for its second year on Broadway last night, March 3 at The Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Joining the cast are Tony and Oliver Award nominee Gavin Lee (Mary Poppins) as Thenardier, Erika Henningsen as Fantine, Rachel Izen as Madame Thenardier, Brennyn Lark as Eponine, Chris McCarrell as Marius and Wallace Smith as Enjolras. Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo will perform as Jean Valjean through the end of the summer; Will Swenson, as Javert, and Samantha Hill, as Cosette, will continue in their roles as well. Portland Players takes an adventurous step in opening its season with a grand production of the beloved Boubil-Schonberg classic, LES MISERABLES. Assembling a large cast and mounting an impressive staging, this eighty-six year-old company delivers a performance of passion and heart, if not perfection. And yet the flaws which emerge - sometimes the result of direction or casting, but mostly by-products of the limitations of the theatre space - cannot dim the impact of the performance.

The cast of the Tony nominated revival of Les Miserables has been hard at work at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street) since it opened earlier this spring. London and Broadway's original Jean Valjean, Colm Wilkinson, performed the role of the Bishop for a special performance of LES MISERABLES Saturday evening, January 11 in Toronto at the Princess of Wales Theatre alongside Broadway's next Valjean, Ramin Karimloo, who will star in Cameron Mackintosh's new production of the legendary musical beginning March 1 at the Imperial Theatre.
