Geva Theatre Center has completed a seven year, multi-phase, top to bottom renovation of its 51,832 square foot home. This renovation has transformed Geva's historic home, the former New York State Arsenal and Rochester Convention Hall, into a dynamic, world-class cultural asset serving people from all over the country, providing exceptional arts and cultural programs and contributing to the economic vibrancy of the region. Three finalists have been announced for the second annual Lysicrates Prize, produced by Griffin Theatre Company and inspired by the restoration of the Lysicrates Monument on the band lawn of The Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, which celebrates its 200th Birthday in 2016. Scroll down for photos!

New York City Center, dedicated by Mayor LaGuardia in 1943 as Manhattan's first performing arts center, is currently in its final phase of its historic renovation and restoration. Designed by Ennead Architects LLP, (formerly known as Polshek Partnership Architects), the renovation will preserve and restore the landmark 1923 building's historic features while modernizing and upgrading the facility to create a world-class cultural center. A gala re-opening is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, 2011.

Last night at the Waldorf-Astoria, Bette Midler hosted Hulaween 2010, her annual gala to benefit the New York Restoration Project. This year's event honored Senator John Kerry and featured a special performance by Paul Simon, a costume contest judged by Michael Kors and a live auction with Judy Gold. New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to reclaiming and restoring New York City parks, community gardens and open space. In partnership with the City of New York, NYRP is also leading MillionTreesNYC - an initiative to plant and care for one million new trees throughout New York City's five boroughs by 2017. The Deep Throat Sex Scandal, a new play by David Bertolino, directed by Jerry Douglas opened its Off-Broadway production on October 10th, 2010.

Last night, on June 14, The Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director; Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) presented a rare concert performance of Alan J. Lerner and Frederick Loewe's 'Brigadoon' on Broadway for its 2010 Annual Benefit Gala.

Intelligence-Slave, by Kenneth Lin, is the third of the Alley Theatre's world premieres this season and will run May 23 - June 20, 2010 on the Neuhaus Stage. Kenneth Lin's new play, Intelligence-Slave, tells the story of Curt Herzstark, a concentration camp prisoner who is being kept alive by the Nazis because he has invented the world's first hand-held four function calculator.

Restoration, written by Claudia Shear and directed by Christopher Ashley opened at the New York Theatre Workshop this week on May 19, 2010, at 7:00pm. The production runs through Sunday, June 13. BroadwayWorld was on hand to celebrate the opening night, capturing the starry arrivals, curtain call and after party.

Last night, Monday, May 10, The New Group opened their latest production of The Kid. This marks the final production in The New Group's current 2009-2010 season, which featured Kenneth Lonergan's The Starry Messenger and most recently, the hit revival of Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, directed by Ethan Hawke. The Kid plays a limited Off-Broadway engagement through May 29 at The New Group @ Theatre Row. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the opening night after party arrivals.

After much hype and controversy, LOVE NEVER DIES opened last night, 9 March, in London at the Adelphi Theatre. Previews began on 22 February. The production stars Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo and is directed by Jack O'Brien. The show will subsequently open in New York on November 11, 2010 and then in Australia in 2011. The word in London is that the premiere delivered the splashiest opening night party in West End history, with the party venue being turned into Coney Island.

The producers of LOVE NEVER DIES have released some rehearsal shots of the cast and creative team in action as they prepare for the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's follow-up to the mega-hit, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Currently in previews since February 22, LOVE NEVER DIES opens in London on 9 March 2010 at the Adelphi Theatre. As previously reported, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical will celebrate a year in the West End on 23 March 2010 having completed over 425 performances at the Palace Theatre since its opening last year. From 8 March Jason Donovan (Tick) and Oliver Thornton (Adam) will be joined by Don Gallagher as Bernadette, as booking for the show extends until 26 February 2011. Over the summer (6 June - 5 September 2010) there will be Sunday performances of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical at 3pm. The show is reportedly Broadway-bound thereafter in 2011.

Roger Michell will direct Patrick Hamilton's classic thriller Rope running from 10 December 2009 - 6 February 2010, with press night on 16 December.
